Workshop: The Lower Cape Housing & ADU Resource Center

In response to the urgent housing shortage, many communities on Cape Cod have recently amended their bylaws to allow for the creation of more Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs). ADUs alone will not solve the housing crisis, but they are an important tool for supporting year-round living and working on the Lower Cape. This workshop will cover the ways in which the Lower Cape Housing & ADU Resource Center supports property owners in navigating the permitting process and becoming good landlords. We’ll also discuss how we can work with towns to address challenges in ADU production.

Who should attend?

Town board, committee members and town staff who are directly involved in housing including all housing staff, planners and community development staff including:

Zoning Board of Appeals, Planning Board, Finance Committee, Select Board, members of Affordable Housing Trust, Housing Committee Community Preservation Committee
