The Event

The Event is hosted by LawRight part of National Law Week to celebrate the legal profession’s pro bono efforts, to increase awareness of access to justice issues in the community and to raise much needed funds to support LawRight’s work for disadvantaged and vulnerable Queenslanders.

The Event requires participants to:

- walk a specified route in one of the locations where the Event is organised to occur on 17 May 2022 or;

- a safe pedestrian individual route of the participant's choosing and;

- Raise funds to directly help the most disadvantaged in our community – those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, young people transitioning from state care, people with mental illness, refugees and self-represented litigants.

Your Participation

As a participant in the Event:

1) You acknowledge that you participate at your own risk and that you are not, to the best of your knowledge, suffering from a condition that would prevent and/or render you unfit to participate in the Event. You agree to take all reasonable measures to protect yourself from the risks of participation;

2) You give permission to the organisers for the free use of your name, photograph, voice, or likeness, in any broadcast, telecast, advertising promotion, or other account of this event or marketing or promotion for future or similar events, and waive any rights of privacy that you may have in that regard;

3) You understand that you will periodically be receiving electronic communications related to your participation in The Queensland Legal Walk event;

4) You understand that your registration fee is non-refundable even if you do not participate in the event or the event is cancelled due to inclement weather or other safety concerns;

5) You agree that your registration fee is non-transferable and is not tax deductible;

6) You consent to receiving any medical/first aid treatment including ambulance transportation if event organisers think it is necessary during or after the Event; and

7) You acknowledge that insurance held by LawRight may not cover you for all injury, loss or damage sustained by you during the event.
