Bee Bright: Hanukkah Candle Making Workshop

Sunday, December 6, 2020
11:00 AM to 12:00 PM (PST)
Sliding Scale: $0 to $36 per person

As we approach the winter solstice, the days grow shorter and we see less of the sun. We likely spend more time cozying up at home and less time in community!

Join Community Herbalist Chelsea Taxman and Jessica Gonzalez of Happy Organics for a live workshop exploring a honeybee hive, pollinators, and how they all connect to Hanukkah and the Hebrew month of Kislev in which it falls! Follow along at home to create your own hand-dipped beeswax candles.

Recommended Materials for Candle Making:
Candle Wick
Glass Jar For Melting Wax (24 oz. mason jar – Ball)
Beeswax
Water
Stove Top
Scissors
Pennies or Washers
Wire Hanger (Plastic Okay)
Cooking Pot Tall Enough To Hold Your Glass Jar
Crockpot (If No Stove)
Microwave (If No Stove)

We highly suggest sourcing your beeswax and materials from BIPOC and/or locally owned businesses whenever possible. Here are a few of our recommendations for where to source your materials:
Happy Organics
BioFuels Oasis
Bee Healthy Honey Shop
Re-Up Refill Shop
