Workshop: Zoning Basics for Rural Communities

Zoning changes in communities on the Lower Cape can enhance housing affordability, accommodate greater diversity of needs, encourage more revenue-balanced growth, and improve land use. As a result of participating in this workshop, participants will be able to identify rural zoning options to advance housing initiatives on the Lower Cape and Outer Cape and recognize the significance and impact of density to protect open space. We’ll discuss how to formulate resources and engage stakeholders to implement rural zoning initiatives across the Lower Cape region, which will allow you to employ pro-housing zoning reform.

Town board, committee members and town staff who are directly involved in housing including all housing staff, planners and community development staff including:

Zoning Board of Appeals, Planning Board, Finance Committee, Select Board, members of Affordable Housing Trust, Housing Committee Community Preservation Committee
