Summer 2020 FareShare Newsletter It’s been a difficult start to 2020 but the commitment of our volunteers and staff has shone through. Despite the bushfires, drought and more recently the coronavirus, our community has pulled together to cook more nutritious meals than ever before. If you found yourself destitute with nothing but the clothes on your back, where would you go? Our Brisbane kitchen has been operating for 18 months and is close to matching the daily meal output of our Melbourne operation. Evening shifts are about to begin and there are still regular volunteer slots on our daytime kitchen shifts. If you know anyone who may be interested in lending a hand as an individual or corporate group, please send them our way. This summer we’ve harvested tonnes of nutritious vegetables from our kitchen gardens. Buying seasonal produce is a great way to support local farmers and our latest https://www.fareshare.net.au/recipe is packed with seasonal goodness. It provides around half the recommended daily vegetables for an adult. Bon appetit.
