About Tydavnet Faith & Light
Tydavnet Faith and Light is a voluntary organisation that meets once a month with a break during the summer months. Our aims are to ensure that people with any intellectual disability or any other need are included within our society.
Our meetings are called fiestas, and at these we have time for some party pieces, celebrate birthdays or any other occasion or achievement, a mass/prayer service and time for tea and something to eat. The main goal is to provide a social outing for our special people!
Outside our fiestas, we have outings throughout the year - Lough Derg, Knock and a weekend away in Roscommon are annual events. We also have National Days and Fun days hosted in different communities in different places.
What's Involved
Setting up the hall - putting up banners, setting the tables for tea afterwards before the fiesta. Speaking to our members, guiding those through an activity, helping special people mime out the gospel, helping to serve out the tea!
Fiestas take place from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm one Sunday per month.
