About Camphill Community
Camphill Communities of Ireland is part of an international charitable trust working with people with intellectual disabilities and other kinds of special needs. In Camphill our residents share their home, spiritual and working lives with those who are motivated to meet others as individuals needing support and recognition for what they are, and not as carer and cared for in the conventional sense. Most of the people providing support to those with disabilities are volunteers, coming locally or from abroad.
What's Involved
Each week a group from Camphill Community in Ballybay visit Mullaghmore Equestrian Centre in Tydavnet for a morning of horse riding. Volunteers are required to support the riders and ensure that they enjoy their lesson and participate to their full potential.
Volunteers could expect to accompany riders, help with leading their horse, support riders as they prepare for their ride and help out when the lesson is over.
